The Day Before – Developers announce uncut gameplay

After the last trailer for The Day Before from CES 2023 caused rather critical reactions from the community, the developers have now announced uncut gameplay that will be released in January.

On the official Discord server of the game, the developers of Fntastic now published the following message:

Dear The Day Before community.
We are pleased to inform you that the wait for news regarding our game release is coming to an end. After careful consideration and discussions with our leadership team, we have received approval to share the information you have been eagerly anticipating.

This month, we will be releasing raw gameplay footage, as per the numerous requests received from our community. This footage will showcase a majority of the features and gameplay elements requested by our community and will provide a clear glimpse into the current state of development for The Day Before. We hope you enjoy it.

Announcement raises new questions

But even this announcement doesn’t seem to have the desired effect on the community. Rather, many see the announcement primarily as an admission that none of what has been shown about the game so far corresponds to the real gameplay.

Furthermore, many understandably question why it would take “careful thought and discussion” a little over a month before release for the developers to decide to release proper gameplay – and further, of course, the question also arises as to what the actual plan would have been.

However, for a game that so little is actually known about and works with such a curious PR “strategy”, The Day Before continues to generate a lot of interest.
The title is still one of the most wanted titles on Steam.
