Collision of vegetation
The collision models of many vegetation elements in the game, especially trees and bushes, have been significantly revised with update 1.24. The reason for this is both performance problems caused by too many particles and strange collision behavior with vehicles.

Changes to firearms
In terms of particles, the firearms have also been tweaked, as these have been optimized and should therefore contribute to better gunplay.
In addition, the recoil of some automatic weapons has been slightly increased.
Since update 1.24, all weapons now spawn with different charge statuses, so that you can no longer tell whether a weapon has been spawned or left behind by another player.
As a last change regarding the weapon, the weapon behavior has been changed when you bring the weapon from “idle” to aiming mode from the hip. In addition, the weapon length calculation has been improved, which affects when you have your weapon ready to fire again when you are behind cover. This process should now be smoother and more precise.

Changes for infected are delayed
Update 1.24 was supposed to include more complex changes to the infected (zombies), but work on these is still ongoing, which is why they have been delayed.
However, the infected now react less sensitively to gunshot noises and the damage of blunt weapons and tools against them and animals has also been increased.
Continuous bandaging
Another nice new feature is a change to bandaging, which now allows the action to be carried out continuously for multiple bleeds as long as the bandage stack is large enough.
New content in the game
As far as new content is concerned, the DayZ Experimental Update 1.24 is fairly straightforward, but there are some small innovations and new content.
You can now find the Vikhr rifle in the game, a rifle based on the SR-3M Vikhr, a compact assault rifle from the real world, and 30-round magazines for the Vihkr, ASVAL and VSS weapons.
Also now in the game are some new camouflage pattern variants of the ballistic helmet – and there are some new additions to the bookshelves, which have now been filled with winners from the book contest.
Finally, there are some new sounds, including for making improvised clothing, basebuilding kits, the bone knife and collecting branches.
