Rust – Halloween event brings Zombies, Frankenstein and Dracula

This year’s Halloween event in Rust is a colorful hodgepodge of the last few years event content – but that doesn’t make it any less fun.

We tell you what you can currently expect in the game!

How long does the event run?

The event and all related content will be available in-game until November 2, 2023.

Collect candy

Approximately every two days (in-game time), a candy hunt will start where you have to collect as many candies around you as quickly as possible in 3 minutes.
The top 3 on the server will get special loot bags as a reward.

Both the loot bags and the candy boxes can be opened and pretty much anything from scrap to M249 can be inside.
If you have enough candy you can also exchange them for bigger candy boxes with better loot.

If you wear the ghost or scarecrow costume you can see the candy better – and with the collection bucket you pick up the candy immediately.

Create your own Frankenstein monster

Also back is the Frankenstein monster, which you can patch together from parts of mummies and scarecrows.
You can use the resurrection table to bring your own Frankenstein monster to life from its head, torso, and legs, and then give it commands (default menu key: P).

The monster will follow you unconditionally and carry out your orders. It can defend you or you can instruct it to attack certain targets.

R.U.I.N. Portals

The portals from the previous year are also back in the game. They appear randomly in the game world and stay open for a short time.
Enter the portal and you will be teleported to a cave system where mummies are waiting to finish you off – or other players who were faster.

Here you will find event items and other useful items in the crates at the ends of the corridors and in the mummies you have killed.

New Halloween Items

Of course, there are some thematically fitting items that you will see in the game for the event and partly also beyond.

There is a Dracula mask and a matching red and black cape. You can purchase the mask in the item store and then craft it for some in-game cloth.

To match Drakula, there will also be a wooden stake that the undead can carry. This is a special weapon that will strike down the undead with just one hit.
In addition, NPC enemies taken out with the stake will contain additional loot.
