One of the new announcements during the Summer Game Fest livestream was John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando.
The new co-op shooter, inspired by the style of 80s horror movies, involves both Focus Home Interactive and Saber Interactive, as well as John Carpenter.

Zombies and weird humor in co-op

In the game, you can shoot hordes of the undead with up to four players – in a very wacky style with lots of action, horror and weird humor.
Technically, the Swarm Engine from Saber Interactive is to be used, which also enabled the huge zombie hordes in World War Z. The game will also feature a new, more powerful engine.

Director John Carpenter will contribute his expertise in storytelling and atmosphere.

There should be more information about the upcoming shooter in the coming weeks and months.
Until then, there is a coherent Reveal trailer and you now have the opportunity to register for the closed beta phase of the game.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is scheduled for release in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
