A new short film from the Stories from the Outlands series highlights the (shared) pasts of Legends Lifeline and Octane, as well as their motivations, and serves as a lead-in to the new Apex Legends event, in which Lifeline gets a Town Takeover.

This is what the new short film shows

In the short film, it becomes clear that Lifeline (aka Ajay Che) and Octane (aka Octavio Silva) are both children of large corporate owners – and also have a common history.
In “Family Matters,” we learn that Lifeline wants to make amends for the actions of her family and their company, respectively, with sanitation stakes – and for that, she also enlists the help of her acquaintance Octane to get her hands on drugs.

Both want to steal these from Octane’s father’s powerful pharmaceutical company – and get caught.
In the end, the daring coup the two pull off results in the realization that they will always be associated with their families.

Finally, we learn something about the motivation of the two legends to participate in the Apex Games: While Lifeline wants to further prove that her family name stands not only for war horrors but also for helping people in need, Octane just wants to experience the ultimate thrill.

Balancing adjustments for Lifeline

Since the movie is mainly dedicated to Lifeline, it was to be expected that the next updates and events will mainly revolve around one of the first legends.

And so the following changes were made:

Lifeline

  • Combat Revive
    • Moved revive cancel option from Lifeline to the player that’s getting revived.
  • D.O.C. Heal Drone
    • Healing pool increased from 150 to infinite (still lasts 20s).
    • Doubled the healing radius.
  • Care Package
    • Cooldown reduced from 5 minutes to 3.5 minutes.
    • The weapon attachment panel now comes with a Shield Battery instead of two Shield Cells.
    • No blue beam on initial drop (will still show up after the Care Package lands).

New location on Olympus

At the same time as the new Revival Collection event, a “Town Takeover” of Lifeline is coming into play on the map Olympus.

What makes this clinic special is a large healing platform where you will be permanently healed as if by Lifeline’s drone. A strong position for a fight!

Lifeline’s clinic can be found in the northeast of the map, between the gardens and the culture towers.
