The developers of Hunt: Showdown 1896 have finally released some initial information: Update 2.4 will not only see a comprehensive overhaul of the popular DeSalle map, but also a brand new event called “Judgement of the Fool”.
Anyone looking forward to new challenges and exclusive rewards should mark their calendars for the summer.
Return of DeSalle
The centerpiece of Update 2.4 is the return of the DeSalle map – in new splendor. Crytek has completely overhauled the map: New lighting and texture effects, revised vegetation and numerous gameplay adjustments provide a breath of fresh air.
Areas such as Kingsnake Mine, Pearl Plantation or Fort Bolden now offer new paths, lines of sight and access points, making tactics and flanking games much more interesting.
The light and time of day system has also been optimized on all maps.
New event: Judgement of the Fool
The new event “Judgement of the Fool” has also been teased. It focuses on three new characters: The Fool, a disfigured snake oil salesman on the run, The Pale Judge, a former judge with tarot cards and a gun, and Dorothy Alice, the last survivor of the Alice family.
The event also brings new gameplay mechanics such as stealing Pledge Marks, the Wage Spur trait (a gamble for traits) and a separate MMR system for Bounty Clash mode.
There are also exclusive event traits, including the new Catalyst trait, which combines popular effects.
New monster: Ursa Mortis 2.0
The developers have already hinted at a new monster. Whether this is a new boss, a wild target or a completely new enemy remains unclear for the time being.
According to the press release, however, it is said to be the “Brute”, a “failed descendant of Ursa Mortis”.
