It’s no surprise that a wipe in Escape from Tarkov brings some changes and new features, but these usually happen during the pre-wipe events or with the installation of the new update.

Now, however, the developers have decided to make quite drastic changes about two weeks after the restart, which is not met with a positive response from all players, but the changes are probably intended to extend the “early & midgame phase”.

Availability of ammunition types

Many ammo types with medium to heavy armor penetration values have been completely removed or moved to level 4 by vendors, and some have been blocked from the flea market.
However, as a replacement, some of the ammo types are now craftable in the stash and can still be found in-game as loot and from scavs.

  • Removed from traders completely: M61, M855A1 (skis only), M995, 7.62x39mm BP, 12.7x55mm P12B, 9×21 BT, impact grenade.
  • Moved inside traders: M80, M62, .45 ACP AP (Peacekeeper Level 4).
  • Locked from the flea market: 12.7x55mm P12B, 7.62×51 M80, 9x21mm BT, 9x39mm PAB-9 gs
  • Craftable in Hideout: SS190, M80, .300 Blackout AP, and 9×21 BT
    Availability of equipment & attachments

There are also some changes in terms of equipment and weapon attachments availability.

Among others, the following scopes have been adjusted:

  • EOTech Vudu 1-6×24 30mm – removed from all traders.
  • Vortex Razor HD Gen.2 1-6×24 30mm – removed from all traders
  • Schmidt & Bender PM II 1-8×24 30mm – removed from all traders
  • Burris FullField TAC30 – now only available as trade in from Jaeger

Armor changes include the following:

  • BNTI Gzhel-K – no longer available for rubles at Ragman
  • Tasmanian Tiger SK – only available at Ragman level 4
  • Altyn Bulletproof Helmet – removed from all traders
  • Rys-T Bulletproof Helmet – removed from all traders
  • 6B3TM-01M – Armored Vest – now only available once per reset at Ragman, price increased to 70,000+ rubles

Boss spawn rates increased

Spawn chances for all scav bosses have been increased between 5-10%. So you should now encounter Tagilla, Killa and co much more often, and the “Goons” (the trifecta) have also received a 7% spawn chance increase.
