After the developers of Escape from Tarkov had already announced the release of the spin-off for the beginning of December, the time had finally come today.
When the arena tournament at Dreamhack Hannover ended, the first players had access to Escape from Tarkov: Arena.

What is Escape from Tarkov: Arena?

Escape from Tarkov: Arena is a turn-based spin-off of the hardcore survival shooter Escape from Tarkov.
Two teams fight against each other in relatively small maps with pre-selected equipment kits.

The game therefore combines quick rounds with guaranteed PvP with the gunplay and movement of Escape from Tarkov.

Escape from Tarkov: Arena is to be linked to the main game, although the exact extent to which this will happen has not yet been confirmed.

Where can I buy Escape from Tarkov: Arena?

You can order the game on the official website on the pre-order page.

It runs via its own launcher from Battlestate Games.

Why can’t I play Escape from Tarkov: Arena immediately after purchase?

Escape from Tarkov: Arena is unlocked in waves, so not all purchasers will be unlocked at the same time and immediately.

Head developer Nikita stated that they wanted to be sure that the servers could cope with the load and that everything would run smoothly.

What are the criteria for accessing Escape from Tarkov: Arena?

According to the developers, Arena release will be given out in the following order:

• Alpha testers
• All owners of the “Edge of Darkness” edition of Escape from Tarkov
• All pre-orders of Escape from Tarkov: Arena

Battlestate Games stated this applies not only to the time of purchase of the individual versions but also to activity in the Escape from Tarkov: Arena system (more on this below).

Content creators and streamers of a certain size and relevance who operate in the Extraction Shooter cosmos seem to be an exception here.
They seem to be given priority access.

How to get access to Escape from Tarkov: Arena

To have the chance to finally get access to Escape from Tarkov: Arena in the unlock waves you have to complete a few steps according to the developers:

• Own the “Edge of Darkness” edition of Escape from Tarkov / Escape from Tarkov: Arena
• Log in with your account on the Escape from Tarkov: Arena website
• Go to the pre-order page, your version should be displayed there.

According to Battlestate Games, you will only be “listed” in the system after these steps and can be unlocked in a wave.

From then on you have to wait and hope, if you are unlocked you will receive an e-mail to the address you used to create your account.
