Last week, we experienced the drama surrounding the release of The Day Before, the controversial survival title that led to the closure of the developer and the discontinuation of the game after just a few days.
However, this also prompted a number of developers, who had already spoken out on the subject several times in recent days, to present their titles as an alternative.
“The Day After Survival Sale” is currently taking place
It was recently announced that Bohemia Interactive has teamed up with Rocketwerkz and Icarus to create a bundle for DayZ.
Rocketwerkz is the company of DayZ creator Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall, who left the project after some time.
Survival fans have the chance to buy both titles together on Steam and save 33% until December 21, 2023.
Fittingly, the two studios have named the whole thing The Day After Survival Sale Bundle, in reference to the disastrous release of The Day Before and to position themselves as an alternative for all survival fans.
This limited-time offer represents a unique partnership between the publishers of DayZ and Icarus. It provides players with a chance to experience the stark contrasts of survival — from the relentless threats of a zombie-infested landscape to the unexplored dangers of an extraterrestrial planet.
The community is taking it with humor and the campaign seems to be going down well – even if the failed release of a game is actually rather sad.
However, the developers of The Day Before probably have themselves to blame for much of this gloating after years of bragging about big promises, none of which could be kept.
