Halloween time has also arrived in Escape from Tarkov and brings a feature to the game in the form of zombies that very few players will have expected.
We give you a rough overview of the situation!

Story-wise, the plague seems to have come from a previously sealed area of the laboratory and has been spreading throughout the entire game world of Escape from Tarkov ever since.
New tasks are also unlocked every day, which also advance the story about the zombies.

How long will the event run for?

As usual, the developers of Escape from Tarkov are not revealing any details.
However, most people are currently assuming that the event will end towards the end of the week.

What’s happening in the game right now

You can currently find zombies on all maps, the higher the infection rate is displayed, the more zombies you will find.
Scavs, raiders and even scav bosses will not bother you and will fight the zombies instead. However, if you attack them first, they will be hostile to you.
The exception is an infected version of the boss Tagilla, which you can encounter on all maps. He hunts everything and everyone with a scythe.

At the time of writing, access to the Labs map is also completely free, so you don’t need an access card.

In addition, you will find Halloween-themed pumpkins in the game, which you can open after extraction.
They contain all kinds of items, from sweets and crafting materials to ammunition and weapons.

Tips for fighting the zombies

  • Silencer: The zombies are very sensitive to noise and especially to gunfire. Use silencers, otherwise you will easily be overrun.
  • Headshots: The zombies have a relatively high life pool, so rely on headshots to take them out.
  • Bleeding: When the zombies hit you, they often cause heavy bleeding. So take more medication!
  • Infection: A hit from the zombies can infect you, which has a negative effect on your hydration and also affects your sound for a short time. The infection cannot be cured in the raid and disappears after death or extraction.

What quests are there in the game?

At the time of writing, there are 15 quests related to the event in the game.

What do you get for the quests?

Every event quest also has rewards, of course. Worth mentioning here are

  • the AA-12 shotgun as a quest reward for “Dirty Blood”
  • a yellow Labs access card for “The Root Cause”
  • a purple Labs access card for “Find the Source”
  • a medicine chest for “Sample IV – A New Hope”
  • a blue Labs access card for “Contagious Beast”
  • a SICC bag for “Forgotten Oaths”
  • a THICC weapon case for “Clear Conscience”

You will also receive a number of possible achievements for completing the final quests, which will be retained beyond the upcoming wipes.
