The developers of Escape from Tarkov have announced an Arena mode that will be released as a standalone game.
Here is all the information that exists so far about the FPS spinoff.

Escape from Tarkov Arena

The spin-off will be appropriately titled Escape from Tarkov Arena and will be based on the main game in terms of gunplay and some gameplay aspects. However, things like looting and getting back out of the map with full pockets will be omitted in this game.
Instead, the focus is on fighting in limited areas from the city of Tarkov.

The developers themselves describe it like this:

Escape from Tarkov Arena is a standalone game project – a session-based multiplayer first-person shooter for PC with all the known and beloved hardcore game mechanics of Escape from Tarkov.
Players will take part in gladiatorial battles in various arenas of the city of Tarkov, organized by a mysterious group of Arena Masters led by the Host.

The basic idea behind the spin-off is simple: the developers want to test whether the gunplay of Escape from Tarkov is also suitable for another, more compressed game format.

What we know about the Arena mode so far

Escape from Tarkov Arena will not be a deathmatch with constant respawns. There will be PvE and PvP game modes, and a progression system will unlock weapons and equipment to take into rounds.

Owners of the main game will also be able to play the main PMC character in Arena mode. However, it is not yet known whether this will result in experience points for the main game or other bonuses.

How can Escape from Tarkov Arena be played?

As a standalone game, Escape from Tarkov Arena will of course have to be paid for and purchased separately, unless you own the expensive Edge of Darkness edition of Escape from Tarkov, which gives you access to all DLCs.

However, owners of other versions and newcomers will have to put cash on the table.
Of course, the game can also be purchased completely standalone.

The first closed tests for Escape from Tarkov Arena are currently planned for the fall of 2022.
